Frankfurt Dresden Dance Company - Jacopo Godani

Frankfurt Dresden Dance Company ::Metamorphers

In Metamorphers, Godani’s pure choreography poignantly captures the essence of Béla Bartók’s String Quartet Nº 4 (1928). Metamorphers races through thrilling musical connections as dancers coalesce in sextets, quartets, pas de deux, duos, solos and other compelling combinations. The choreography makes the score’s “puzzle” visible, allowing both artistic universes to converge. Godani plays with naturalness and spontaneity, embracing and transforming an enormous configuration of highly sophisticated choreographic material. Metamorphers is unquestionably a musical work: in it, dance becomes the melody of the music.

Béla Bartók’s string quartets are recognized as crowning achievements of twentieth-century chamber music. The composer demonstrates his genius through the fourth quartet’s five mirroring movements. Bartók´s score will be performed live on stage.
