With Zeitgeist Tanz, Jacopo Godani and the Dresden Frankfurt Dance are presenting a unique program of contemporary choreographies.
Quintett (1993) is a milestone in William Forsythe’s oeuvre of contemporary ballet, in which the dancers set in motion a seamless flow of solos, duets and trios to Gavin Bryars’s music. Forsythe’s work is compelling thanks to its joyful complexity – like a raging torrent whose powerful vision contains an awareness of its own end.
In his new creation for the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company Good Old Moone, Marco Goecke works with music from various sources, including American soul singer and songwriter Isaac Hayes. “When I think of this work, I dream of a feeling of a central point that explains everything. Every new work is also the search for an encounter with someone,” says Goecke.
Jacopo Godani's work Hollow Bones celebrates its world premiere in Dresden. For his new creation, Godani chose excerpts from the suites for violoncello by Johann Sebastian Bach, which will be played live on stage.
