With ZEITGEIST TANZ Jacopo Godani and the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company present a program of three unique contemporary choreographies.
In his new work BACH OFF!, Jacopo Godani addresses the question of how to project classical cultural heritage into the present without losing its incomparable value. "These cello scores deserve a young, contemporary interpretation so that new generations can learn to understand and appreciate the incredible cultural value of our past," says Godani.
Quintett (1993) is a milestone in William Forsythe’s oeuvre of contemporary ballet, in which the dancers set in motion a seamless flow of solos, duets and trios to Gavin Bryars’s music. Forsythe’s work is compelling thanks to its joyful complexity – like a raging torrent whose powerful vision contains an awareness of its own end.
In his creation for the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company, Good Old Moone, Marco Goecke works with music from Patti Smith. “When I think of this work, I dream of a feeling – of a central point that explains everything. Every new work is also the search for an encounter with someone,” says Goecke.
