Frankfurt Dresden Dance Company - Jacopo Godani

Selflessness is the response of Jacopo Godani and the dancers of the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company to the frustration and isolation of social-distancing. It was developed from home during the COVID-19 shutdown.
Originally planned for online showings on the company’s Facebook and Instagram accounts, the dancers produced a series of 20 short videos to contrast the excess of overexposure and self-centeredness on social media. In the videos, the dancers transform into living sculptures that are not defined by a face but through the creative mind of the artist and the redefinition of their bodies.
Selflessness is a performance installation at Bockenheimer Depot that respects the official parameters of social distancing.
