Frankfurt Dresden Dance Company ::Education/Outreach

Our EDUCATION program

Everyone can experience dance with us!

Everyone has the right to cultural and aesthetic education. Since the founding of the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company, there have been educational offers for young and old, for beginners and professionals, for all people regardless of origin, socialization, education, age and physique.

We live and love diversity!
We share our knowledge and our way of working, learning and teaching about dance.
Everyone has the opportunity to challenge and expand their own aesthetic expression.
Furthermore, we pass on values that stand for the success of the company and the dancers: Empathy, responsibility, tolerance, discipline and confidence in oneself.

Our 16 dancers come from nine different countries and the internationality of the company is always present. We experience this as a great inspiration and enrichment and would like to pass it on in the same way. Our offers are a contribution to personal development and towards an open, pluralistic, and modern society.

Program for Children

Vacation Dance Workshop for Children
10-12 years old

The Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company organizes five-day dance workshops for children aged
10-12. Movement and improvisation techniques from contemporary dance can be learned. Together we will develop a short choreography and explore how to express certain moods and feelings through dance. If you find it exciting to tell a story with movements, if you enjoy dancing, and if you wonder how to captivate an audience, then you have come to the right place. Together we will develop our own dance piece, which we will perform in front of your audience (parents, siblings and friends) at the end of the workshop.

Joy and fun in movement should be in the foreground - under the motto "Everything is possible, nothing is necessary" we will find our own physicality and celebrate it in dance.

Contemporary Dance Workshop for men
"Real guys don't dance!" - Many prejudices of men in our western world sound like this or something similar when it comes to the topic of dance. Yet, from a cultural-historical point of view, this is a misconception. Especially in the Eastern and Southern regions of Europe, but also in Africa or South America, men have always danced to define their status among themselves and to gain the attention of others. The point is to demonstrate body control, strength, skill and charisma. Breaking down inhibitions, reducing insecurities, and strengthening self-confidence are the goals of this dance workshop with Manuel Gaubatz, dance educator of the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company, in which the "typically expected male behaviors" are questioned and male emotion is given space.
No previous dance experience required.

16/17 May 2022, 7.30-9 pm

TUSCH - „Theater und Schule"
The TUSCH program promotes long-term and sustainable cooperations between schools and the performing arts. Starting in the 2021/22 school year, the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company and the Carl von Weinberg School in Frankfurt Goldstein will begin a three-year cooperation. During this time, all students will come into contact with dance. Depending on the year, either longer lesson series, short taster offers, or training and performance visits are on the timetable, but also further training offers for teachers are planned. Dance is simply part of it!

The Palucca University of Dance Dresden and the University of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt am Main (HfMDK) are important partners of the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company in the field of education. The aim is to offer students practical experience, exchange and a network that supports them on their own career path.

Young dancers can complete an internship at the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company if they are suitable. The Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company is also a training company.
