Gaizka is of Basque descent and was born in Spain. He received his dance training from 2015 in Madrid at the school Danza 180, where he was taught classical ballet as well as contemporary and modern dance techniques. In repertory workshops he studied choreographies by William Forsythe and Jiří Kylián. He worked in various freelance projects in Spain before moving to London to participate in an intensive training programme with Wayne McGregor. In 2018, he joined the IT Dansa Young Company Barcelona. He danced in choreographies by Crystal Pite, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Alexander Ekman, Akram Khan, Ohad Naharin, and Rafael Bonachela, among others. He then worked freelance for a year in projects such as Metamorphosis Dance and the Israeli Dana Raz Dance Project and was part of a new production at the Theater Arriaga in Bilbao. Since August 2021 he is a member of the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company.
