Ulrich Müller and Siegfried Rössert met in the late 1970s when they were studying musicology at Munich University. Since then they have worked in a multitude of musical fields and contexts. Their music is influenced by rock and pop music as well as by the bruitism of Edgar Varèse and by contemporary music. Working together, they have continuously explored the possibilities that arise from combining new technologies with acoustic instruments, thereby developing the field of music further. In 1998 they founded 48nord, an internationally successful collective of musicians that composes and produces stage music and experimental radio plays and also gives concerts. They have presented their prizewinning works during lectures and workshops held at universities such as the Art Institute of Chicago and the Columbia University in New York. Ulrich Müller and Siegfried Rössert met Jacopo Godani in 2006. Since then they have composed and produced the music for a variety of his choreographies.
