Dance creates a strong sense of community and allows me to communicate on a deeper level beyond words. The movement in dance can be incredibly therapeutic and healing: through dance I can express all my passions and frustrations in a healthy, creative way. Movement is nourishment, as necessary to our survival as food and water.

Todd Baker began his training in ballet and modern dance at the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, Texas, before continuing at Dance Industry, also in Texas. In 2017, he began studying modern dance techniques and improvisational styles at The Julliard School. Over the years, he has performed in works by Ohad Naharin, Marco Goecke, Crystal Pite and Hofesh Shechter, among others. He has also danced in pieces by Bryan Arias, Loni Landon, Benoit-Swan Pouffer and Andrea Miller. He joined the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company in August 2021. The experience of being a permanent member of the ensemble and exploring dance with his peers on an ongoing basis continues to enrich and inspire him.
